Cut Tulip Tip

Did you know that Tulips keep growing.That’s right, once they are put in a vase they will continue to grow.The average vase life for cut tulips is 5 to 8 days.  In order to enhance the vase life before putting tulips in a vase, cut them at an angle and add water on a daily basis.

Naturalization

The Process of Naturalization occurs when planting bulbs that return year after year with very little care. Best Varieties are Daffodils, Muscari, Scillas, Sparaxis, and Darwin Hybrid Tulips.

Bulb Growing Instructions

Before planting keep bulbs in a well ventilated,  cool dry place. 

Best Time to Plant: Mid September to Mid November. Bulbs can be planted as late as January for results in Spring.

Planting instructions: Best results when planted in well drained soil.  Place the bulb with the pointed end up, spacing between bulbs should be at least 2 inches or a bulb size apart.  There should be 5 to 7 inches of soil on top of the bulbs.

Bloom Time Guide

E – Early season flowering variety: between Mid March to Early April

M – Mid season flowering variety: between Late March to Mid April

L – Late season flowering variety: between Early April to Late April
